WPLUP- Crochet Comeback
Would you believe it's that time again? Time to start battening down the hatches and preparing for the coming of Winter- and the Winter Project Link Up Party hosted by Thistlebear!! I took part in this blog link up last year and it was such fun to share with other blogs and see how everyone else was progressing that as soon as it was suggested for this year, I jumped at the chance.
Today has been a perfect example of clear Autumnal weather. The Sister and I went to the Ardingly Showground Autumn Fair which was good fun. Lots of lovely food and crafts and flowers; I bought a couple of mini Cyclamens to brighten the windowsill when the grey days arrive. They are such happy little upside down flowers.
The announcement of the WPLUP has meant my blowing the dust off of a blanket I started at the beginning of the year but didn't get around to finishing. It got put down in May (here) as lighter (less hot to work on) projects got started, but as the nights are drawing in and the air is getting cooler, thoughts turn once more to blankets and this one gets another moment in the sun!
I may have to quickly remind myself of the pattern before being able to start it up again, and would also like to start another blanket over the Winter as this one seems almost finished. The long sides are squared off, just the length and border to go really.
I found this Sunflower head in the garden, looks like the birds have already gotten to it for the seeds. I've plucked a few more off and planted them ready for next year, we've had great success this Summer with our Sunflowers. The shape sort of reminds me of the blanket in a geometric/abstract sort of way. Lots of seeds joining together to make an overall pattern.
So I hope you will also join along in the WPLUP with me, the link to the original blog post on Thistlebears' blog is here if you are wishing to join in also. Excitingly there is also a button in my sidebar this year to make things much easier to keep up with what the other participants are doing. Until the next party post! xx
Lovely blanket! I like the clever single coloured hexagon 'circles'. I love this time of year when yet again the cosy projects are taken out and worked on.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a pretty design. I love working on blankets at this time of year x
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, thanks for joining in with my link party! I love your blanket. It's very interesting and so visually appealing. Like Christina, my eye is particularly drawn to the single-colored hexes here and there. Really clever design!
ReplyDeleteLovely blanket, what an amazing amount of work. Good luck with the finish.

Wow, Beth! I am cheering you on to the finish of your amazing blanket! I have never attempted anything so complicated, and so especially appreciate your skill.
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is so gorgeous, wishing you many cozy nights to work on it.
