Abbey Park

As it was such a beautiful (albeit blustery) day today, and myself and Lucy had the afternoon off, we decided to go for a walk along the canal-- which ended into a 3 hour jaunt when we discovered a signpost for Abbey Park and curiosity got the better of us. It is such a gorgeous place though we didn't mind the hike one bit! Full of history, interest, water birds and sunshine it was a glorious place to meander through and I got some fabulous pictures to share with you all.

We explored the abbey ruins and had a look through some of the windows to spy on the neighbours...

Took a stroll through the cloister...

...and arrived at a house that was partly burned down during the civil war. The black bits around the windows are evidence left behind by the fire.

The bridge was beautiful!

We meandered past the boating lake...

Took a breather to read a poem...

Watched the sun set through the pagoda...

And sauntered past the snowdrop wood.

All in all, a lovely walk!
