The Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum- a gorgeous building!! You could spend hours looking at it and still find details you previously missed. There are hundreds of animals, dinosaurs, flowers, fish etc carved into the walls.
The repetition is very pleasing to the eye as well. Rows of columns, stacks of different coloured stones, simple carved patterns...
The last time I was here was just over a year ago!! The 22nd January 2014 to be exact. I took a similar photo to the above one then, just at a different time of day. Beautiful in both lights.
The entrance hall is just as impressive. I quite literally spent at least ten minutes gazing at the ceiling. Every panel is different and although there is repetition here again, all of the plants and trees are slightly different. There were lemon trees, pine trees, oak trees, apple trees... lots and lots to look at!
Then of course once you have strained your neck leaning backwards to view the ceiling, you have to turn to the great stained glass windows to see their prettiness. In my opinion, the architecture is of a similar priceless value to that of the fascinating ancient objects housed within the walls!
