Harriet & Hamilton Go To Rome
I think holidays for Travel Hamsters involves a LOT of eating. Rome is perfect place for eating; you have gelato, spaghetti (pronounced in a terrible Italian accent), other forms of pasta, pizza, little tiny pastries....yum yum. Harriet and Hamilton apparently tried and tested as many forms of traditional Italian cuisine as possible when they visited in the Autumn half term.
It was all about eating though, they managed to squeeze in time to do a spot of sight seeing, visiting the Castel Sant'Angelo (The Mausoleum of Emperor Hadrian) and tip toeing over the Ponte Sant'Angelo (The Bridge of Emperor Hadrian).
They trundled around the Colosseum, and trod in the footsteps of ancestral Travel Hamsters in The Roman Forum, although were so awed by the sights that they completely forgot to photograph these. They did remember to take selfies outside St Peter's Basilica (otherwise known as The Papal Basilica of St. Peter In The Vatican- a bit of a mouthful for small hamsters) whilst visiting The Vatican City though.
Doesn't it look lovely with the sun shining on it and the brilliant blue sky above?
And, even more fantastically(!!!!), in the above photo, leaning out of one of the top windows, is the Pope himself!!!! Blessing our little Travel Hamsters on their holiday! How amazing is that? I have a feeling they will go back to Rome one day!
