I had a couple of days on holiday last week, and one of them was spent roaming around the countryside with The Parents. We stopped off for a picnic lunch on one of Eastbourne's lovely beaches, and could see the pier just off in the distance.
There was barely anyone around so I had a good crunch on the pebbles, sliding on the slippy stones.
It was quite windy too and the waves were throwing their spray high into the air as they hit the beach, filling the air with that lovely salty smell.
It was a beautiful stop for a picnic!
